Product Overview
Aluminum Beams and Joists combine light weight, high strength, and cost-saving design features for joist and stringer shoring applications alongside FrameFast Hi-Load frames — together making up FWS’s 10K Shoring System. They’re extruded from high-performance aluminum alloy in section heights of 7-1/4″ and 6-1/2″, with wide flanges for maximum stability.
Because they’re stronger than most competitive wood or steel alternatives, fewer pieces are needed to support a given load, and a single worker can carry and place them — a 7-1/4″ aluminum beam, 10 feet long, weighs just 46 lbs. compared to 89 lbs. for a wood 4″x10″ of similar capacity. A special longitudinal bead provides integral web stiffening, and a 5″ wide bottom flange gives a solid base that’s less likely to roll over while decking is installed. The Aluminum Beam Attachment Clamp secures beams and joists to U-Heads or stringers at any point along the channel; Steel Beam Clamps and Friction Clamps are also available.
