Since 1982.

Formwork Services and Supply was founded in 1982 by Michael D. Bishop in Houston, TX, and grew from an early partnership as a key dealer for one of the largest form manufacturers in the country into a full-line forming and shoring supplier. Along the way FWS has supported projects from the British Petroleum Headquarters to Daikin Park, and now operates from an expanded Houston headquarters plus a branch and stocking facility in Laurel, MS.

Our Story

Started with
10 truckloads.

Founded in 1982 with 10 truckloads of steel-ply forms, FWS has grown into a full-line forming and shoring supplier, with stock yards in Houston, Laurel, MS, and other regions across the United States.

In 2005, Chris Godby joined FWS as Senior Vice President to lead operations and administration. In 2022, founder Michael D. Bishop sold the company to Freestone Capital Partners & Genesis Park; however, Mike remains an investor, board member and advisor to the business he founded and led for more than 40 years. In 2024, Chris DePue was hired as President & CEO. Today FWS operates from an expanded Houston headquarters plus its FWS-East branch and stocking facility in Laurel, MS.

1982

FWS Founded

Michael D. Bishop founds FWS in Houston, TX, after purchasing 10 truckloads of steel-ply forms from a larger company.

1984

First Major Project

FWS lands its first significant project, supporting construction of the British Petroleum Headquarters in Houston, TX.

1992

Seaworld Shamu Facility

FWS supports construction of the SeaWorld Shamu facility in San Antonio, TX.

1998

Daikin Park

FWS supports construction of the Houston Astros’ ballpark — originally Enron Field, later Minute Maid Park, renamed Daikin Park in 2024 — using its own forming and shoring rental equipment.

2003

Fleet Expansion

FWS acquires a light clamp system and crane set form to support growth, doubling its rental fleet.

2005

Chris Godby joins FWS

Godby joins as Senior Vice President to lead operations and administration.

2010

FWS-East Opens in Laurel, MS
FWS makes a significant expansion, opening a branch in Laurel, MS (FWS-East).

2011

Houston Dyamo Stadium
FWS supports construction of the Houston Dynamo stadium.

2013

TDECU Stadium
FWS supports construction of the University of Houston’s TDECU Stadium.

2021

European Robusto System Introduced
FWS introduces the European Robusto crane set form system to the United States.

2022

FWS-East Expands to Include a Yard
The FWS-East branch in Laurel, MS expanded to include a yard and stocking facility.

2022

Ownership Change
In 2022, founder Michael D. Bishop sold the company to Freestone Capital Partners & Genesis Park; however, Mike remains an investor, board member and advisor to the business he founded and led for more than 40 years.

2023

New Houston Headquarters
FWS relocates to a new, expanded Houston, TX facility — tripling warehouse space, doubling yard space, and growing the site from 2.7 to 4 acres.

2024

Chris DePue Named President & CEO
Chris DePue is hired to replace the retiring founder as President & CEO of FWS.
